Everblue Trains New BPI Energy Auditors

*This is a sponsored post for the Everblue Training Institute.

The green homes market is growing like crazy and energy efficiency is a big aspect of this growth. Specifically, I think the energy audit is critical to helping homeowners improve the performance and comfort of existing homes, and trained professionals will play an important role going forward.  That’s why the Everblue Training Institute is providing a great resource by training professionals to obtain BPI Certification.

Everblue offers several different kinds of BPI training, including BPI Building Analyst Certification training, in over 60 locations to further its motto of “building earth’s sustainable workforce.

A BPI Building Analyst, for example, goes “beyond a traditional energy audit to perform comprehensive, whole-home assessments, identify problems at the root cause, and prescribe and prioritize solutions based on building science,” according to the Building Performance Institute.

Everblue’s Building Analyst program can be completed in less than a week and includes classroom instruction, study materials, field training, field testing, and the online exam.  Everblue provides all the equipment and runs trainees through the energy audit process from start to finish.

There are no pre-requisites to becoming a BPI energy auditor, though BPI Certification can be a great way to expand business for someone like a home inspector, HVAC pro, general contractor, home builder, or HERS Rater.  So if you’re looking for a start with energy audit work, or want to learn more in this area, visit Everblue to reserve a seat.

*This is a sponsored post. The company who sponsored it compensated Jetson Green, LLC.  That said, the reason we are writing about Everblue’s BPI Certification training is we think the program has the potential to benefit our readership.

Boots launches Siemens Microinverter Intensive Solar Training program

We just completed the launch of the Siemens Microinverter Intensive Solar Training program, here at Boots on the Roof.  What a great class! I was in the Boots studio interviewing students and they had great things to say about the training and the Siemens Microinverter.
Student Gerry Kosher, CEO of Green Tech Systems in Chicago said “I couldn’t imagine not going through this class and being in the solar business. It was that comprehensive! I learned that much! I would have spent years working through mistakes had I not attended this class.”
David Picatti, President of Northwest Electrical Supply Company in Washington said about the Siemens Microinverter “I am very impressed with the quality of the product, the simplicity of installation. It eliminates a lot of parts from other systems, so the overall install cost will be less, and it will be a more versatile system. “
We continue to raise the bar in our classes in our commitment to bringing our students the best training in the industry. The Siemens microinverter efficiently addresses the problem of shading. With traditional string inverter technology, shading of just one panel can significantly reduce the energy harvest of the entire string, limiting the entire system by the weakest link. With the Siemens Microinverter, the power conversion for each module happens within each module, ensuring maximum energy harvest independent of the other panels. We are proud to be an authorized training provider for the Siemens Microinverter, and are excited to be offering this course to our students!

Session Solar Announces Partnership With Solar Training School Boots On The Roof and Donates CreoTecc Solar Mounting System

Scotts Valley, CA (PRWEB) December 13, 2011

Session Solar, a leading wholesale distributor of solar photovoltaic (PV) products, is pleased to announce its recent partnership with Boots on the Roof, a training facility for the renewable energy industry located in Fremont, CA. Under this new partnership, Session Solar has donated the technologically advanced CreoTecc solar mounting system which will be used in their commercial solar PV training and construction MegaLab. CreoTecc is made in the USA by Session Solar ? http://www.sessionsolar.com.

Session Solar will also work directly with Boots on the Roof to develop hands-on training and demonstrate how CreoTecc can significantly accelerate installation time while ensuring greater ease, flexibility and a lower installed cost. CreoTecc solar mounting systems feature an insertion rail design, which eliminates the need for clamps and reduces installation time by up to 30%. Due to the popularity and proven savings of CreoTecc mounting systems, over 150 MW have already been installed in Europe. Session Solar has brought the advanced mounting system to the United States for American solar installers to benefit from these savings.

?We?re delighted to have CreoTecc in our new Commercial Construction Lab. CreoTecc is a very innovative solar racking system, where standard solar panels just ?drop in? to the frame with no tools needed. We want to give our students an opportunity to build with CreoTecc, so they can experience for themselves how fast this system is. We?d like to thank our friends at Session Solar for their support in adding CreoTecc to our Labs,? said Chuck Rames, Program Director, Renewable Energy Division of Boots on the Roof.

By learning to install CreoTecc mounting systems, Boots on the Roof students will gain a competitive edge in the market place and be able to offer their clients greater savings, less roof penetrations, and gap-free module spacing for superior aesthetics. Unlike other systems that may impose constraints on module orientation, roof penetrations or rail placements, CreoTecc is engineered for complete adaptability, making it a great choice for both residential and commercial applications.

?At Session Solar we are always looking for ways to help installers compete,? says CreoTecc Product Manager Rodger Petherbridge. ?With our CreoTecc clampless mounting system, installers can offer proven, high quality systems that reduce the time it takes to design and complete the installation.?

Ubisense Announces Military Location Driven Training System

Denver, CO (PRWEB) November 30, 2011

Ubisense today introduced its military training solution, Location Driven Training (LDT). The Ubisense LDT real-time location system (RTLS) solves several challenges faced in Military Operations on Urban Terrain (MOUT) training, resulting in better, more cost-effective combat preparation. Ubisense is demonstrating its new LDT system this week at I/ITSEC 2011, the world?s largest modeling, simulation and training conference, in booth #2362.

The Ubisense LDT system enables precise soldier tracking and data monitoring inside training buildings to improve Exercise Control (EXCON), and includes a fast, intuitive interface for significantly enhanced After Action Review (AAR).

EXCON benefits of the Ubisense LDT system include:

Precise, real-time soldier location for accurate weapon-effects simulation
Shoot-the-wall shot-paring when using an integrated weapon orientation sensor
Augmented reality view over video displays showing soldier ID and status
Integration with other data sources (e.g. MILES vest)

During the AAR process, LDT provides:

Exercise playback using simple video controls
Instant scrolling to key events to avoid long searches through large data sets
Automated video links to follow a single soldier through an entire exercise

LDT is fully operational at one of the Combined Arms Collective Training Facilities (CACTF) at Fort Bliss located in Texas. Fort Bliss has deployed the Ubisense LDT system to gain precise real-time tracking of personnel and assets, and management of spatial data to enhance the safety and quality of its military training. At Fort Bliss, Ubisense installed a sensor network throughout a training complex of 25 multi-story buildings to provide precision tracking in three-dimensions (3-D) throughout the buildings – in rooms, on roof tops and within stairwells.

?The deployment at Fort Bliss underscores the benefits our Location Driven Training system can provide in improving tactical awareness and execution in urban military combat,? said Jay Cadman, vice president of sales, Ubisense. ?Our LDT system brings MOUT training to its ideal state, allowing personnel to focus on training soldiers better rather than struggling with visibility issues and unmanageable after-action data sets.?

By combining the General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) EXCON and AAR system with Ubisense?s location system, Fort Bliss personnel can now track the exact location of all persons inside of buildings and improve the safety and efficiency of its training exercises. And, with Ubisense?s 3-D capabilities, Fort Bliss personnel can simulate a variety of combat scenarios and record and playback all tracking data per individual or group.
