Jackson, MS (Vocus) October 21, 2010

At the national ADDY Awards ceremony, held on June 12, 2010, Maris, West & Baker (MWB) won 2 Gold ADDY Awards and 1 Silver Addy Award for their work on behalf of The Shack Up Inn. With over 60,000 entries on a local level, MWB was among only 250 national winners, and the only Jackson based advertising agency to win at the national level.

Many of the entries on the national level were from large global agencies and accounts, including HBO, P&G, Sony, Intel and Direct TV. ”To win at a national level is an accomplishment that doesn’t happen every day,” said Peter Marks, President of MWB. “While we are proud of this achievement, the real reward comes from designing campaigns that produce results for our clients.”

The Shack Up Inn campaign concept and posters were created and written by Keith Fraser, MWB Associate Creative Director, Marc Leffler, MWB Creative Director: and Randy Lynn. Vice President, Creative Director/Writer. Keith Fraser accepted the awards on behalf of the agency at the Hilton Bonnet Creek, Orlando, Florida.

One of the judges of the competition, Cameron Day, of McGarrah Jessee, commented about the Shack Up Inn Poster Campaign, “I was floored by your poster campaign, which was beautifully art directed and quite nicely written. If you can part with a set, I would feel proud to hang them in my house.”

In addition to the 3 national ADDY wins, MWB also scored big on a district level, taking home 2 gold Addy’s and 4 silver’s out of 21 total winners representing 6 states. The district awards were received for MWB’s work on behalf of The Mississippi SIDs Alliance, Amvac Chemical, and The Shack Up Inn.
