Burnside Marina Included in Lake Cumberland’s Famous Poker Run Sept. 12; Houseboats Available

Somerset KY (PRWEB) August 8, 2009

With screaming spectators, revving engines, live music and helicopters overhead, it is hard to know where to look first. The annual Lake Cumberland Poker Run offers a $ 4000 first prize with a winning hand in this five-card poker game. Players pick up cards at each of five marinas, including Burnside Marina, as they speed around the lake course at up to 180 miles per hour. But it isn’t the speed that wins the prize; it’s the winning poker hand.

For spectators, any place along the course is sure to please. The best vantage point to watch the race is from the top of a houseboat anchored along the shore. Burnside Marina has houseboats available at special late summer rates. These deluxe, floating dream-vacation homes offer all the luxury accommodations a guest could imagine. From the flat screen TV to the roof-top hot tub, the interior surrounds you with a feeling of home away from home.

Burnside Marina will be handing out one of the five cards participants will need to win the coveted prize of the Poker Run. The race begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at State Dock, running the length of the lake and back again. The hands are collected, analyzed and prizes awarded Saturday evening.

Lake Cumberland is considered the House-boating Capital of the World and both Burnside Marina and Beaver Creek Resort, two of the 20 plus marinas owned by Marina’s International, are known for these incredible houseboats. Prime views for the Poker Run weekend are limited to the number of floating vacation rentals available. Burnside Marina boasts a variety of sizes of houseboats, as does Beaver Creek Resort, making it possible for up to 12 guests to share expenses for the fun-filled weekend.

“Our houseboats rent out quickly each year for this particular weekend, but right now we do have limited availability,” said Rita Short, Reservations manager for Marina’s International in the Lake Cumberland and Dale Hollow Lakes Region.

(PRWEB) June 22, 2005

The all-new M6 features weight-saving technologies such as a carbon-fiber roof and 19-inch forged aluminum wheels that are almost four pounds lighter than regular cast wheels. With almost 500 horsepower available, BMW claims the M6 will hit 60 mph in under 4.6 seconds, and it will run to 20 5mph without the traditional 155-mph speed limiter. The suspension, though similar to that of the M5, is specially tuned to take advantage of the M6′s shorter wheelbase and lower center of gravity. Massive cross-drilled brakes enable the M6 to pull up from 60 mph in less than 118 feet.

It is the most powerful 6 Series yet to be produced as it shares its power unit with the recently released M5. Acceleration is from 0-100 km/h comes in 4.6 seconds and the M6 reaches 200 km/h about 14 seconds. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h. It has a 5-litre V10 engine with a power output of 373 kW at 7 750 r/min, while torque is 520 Nm at 6 100 r/min. In city driving where not much power is needed, the BMW M6 automatically sets off in its comfort-oriented P400 performance program with 296 kW (400 bhp) engine output. The V10 power unit requires roughly twice as much cooling air as the V8 in the BMW 645Ci. The V10 is indeed the most demanding engine in technical terms. BMW

Fertility Treatment Discounts Available to Police, Firefighters, EMTs Genetics & IVF Institute Includes First Responders in SALUTE Program

Fairfax, VA (PRWEB) December 09, 2011

The Genetics & IVF Institute (GIVF) is expanding its SALUTE infertility treatment discount program for military personnel to include First Responders, the hometown heroes who serve our local communities: full time, active duty state, county, town, city and municipal police officers, firefighters and EMTs. GIVF wants to honor their service by helping them have children. “We have offered the SALUTE program for the last three years to give something back to those who have served our country. We are excited to extend this benefit to those who serve our local communities,” says Dr. Laurence Udoff, a fertility specialist at GIVF.

The SALUTE program provides a 25% per cycle discount on single cycles of in vitro fertilization (IVF) and donor egg and 5% off the already discounted base fee for GIVF’s multicycle or Pregnancy Guarantee SM IVF refund programs for standard IVF and donor egg IVF. Patients enrolled in the refund programs receive money back if they do not become pregnant.

Thanks to the new program, qualified police, firefighters and EMTs could save thousands of dollars on treatment if they do not have insurance coverage for the services. A detailed description of the programs is available at http://www.givf.com/financialprograms/. Potential patients also may call 703-698-7355 for more information about how the SALUTE program at GIVF could help them.

Each patient is treated as though he or she is GIVF’s only patient — with complete attention to their needs, including their work schedule, medical history and other individual factors. GIVF provides more infertility treatment services under one roof than any other clinic so that patients can choose among a wide array of treatment options, including standard IVF, donor egg IVF, donor sperm, preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) and more. Thule Racks All-New Thule AeroBlade Load Bars Now Available at ORS Racks Direct

Montpelier,VT (PRWEB) September 22, 2011

ORS Racks Direct, a leading nationwide retailer and distributor for Thule Racks, announced today the all-new Thule AeroBlade load bars are now available for purchase in-store and online. The stunning Thule AeroBlade load bars are Thule Racks successful entry into the ultra-popular category of whisper quiet, silent and aerodynamic cross bars. A component of any general-purpose base roof rack system, aerofoil shape crossbars deliver superior benefits over traditional square shape cross bars and round bars. Most importantly, by design the Thule AeroBlade load bars eliminate any possible roof rack noise, whistling or humming that often times occurs with other cross bars. Also, the ultra low-profile, aerodynamic shape effectively works to reduce fuel costs, compared to all other competitors’ models.

With four model sizes available that include the 43 inch crossbars length Thule ARB43 AeroBlade load bars (http://www.orsracksdirect.com/thule-arb43-aeroblade-load-bars.html), 47 inch crossbars length Thule ARB47 AeroBlade load bars (http://www.orsracksdirect.com/thule-arb47-aeroblade-load-bars.html), 53 inch crossbars length Thule ARB53 AeroBlade load bars (http://www.orsracksdirect.com/thule-arb53-aeroblade-load-bars.html ) and 60 inch crossbars length Thule ARB60 AeroBlade load bars (http://www.orsracksdirect.com/thule-arb60-aeroblade-load-bars.html), Thule Racks has thoughtfully sized them to seamlessly replace the now retired Thule Rapid Aero cross bars. In fact, the AeroBlades are fully compatible with all current model Thule Rapid Foot Packs, including the Thule 480R Rapid Traverse Foot Pack, Thule 400XTR Rapid Aero Foot Pack, Thule 460R Rapid Podium Foot Pack, Thule 450R Rapid CrossRoad Foot Pack and Thule 430R Rapid Tracker Foot Pack. Any owners of these current systems using the discontinued Rapid Aero cross rails can easily and affordably upgrade to the superior advantages of the Aero Blade cross rails by purchasing the bars only, replacing the inferior Rapid Aero bars on the base roofrack system currently installed on the owner’s vehicle rooftop.

“For sure the Thule AeroBlade bars are Thule Racks winning entry in the silent roof rack crossbars arena. I think we are now witnessing the heavy-weight title bout between the Thule Aerob Blade featured car rack systems and Yakima Racks recently launched Whispbar car rack systems that include whisper-quiet aerofoil shape crossbars. Both options are easily first choice options when recommending systems to prospective customers. They offer so much more, compared to the classic Thule square bars and the regular Yakima round bars, both of which are apt to producing a heck of a lot of noise on the rooftop.”, explains Catherine Case, ORS Racks Direct Consumer Relations and Sales Coordinator, “Until now, I think the entire industry has just accepted rack noise, whistling and humming as a common nuisance that can often times be remedied with the addition of a wind fairing-noise deflector accessory, though never eliminating noise entirely. Now with these ultra-quiet cross rails, there is no need to spend the extra money on a rack fairing. Yes, this may mean we sell less wind fairings over the long term, but we are much more interested in ensuring our customers experience the best possible happiness with their car rack system purchase. And a highly determinant factor is removing roofrack noise for a totally peaceful environment while cruising down the road.”

The Thule AeroBlade bars are the result of extensive investment, time and energy in wind tunnel testing and rigorous analysis of the system under every conceivable extreme condition. Latest state-of-the-art product advancements and technological innovations have also been applied to the Thule AeroBlade load bars. Chief among them are WindDiffuser Technology, features a textured surface on the bar to disturb airflow and prevent wind noise; SwingBlade Technology, features bar end caps that pivot and open to allow access to the integrated t-slot channel for mounting several models of gear carriers using Thule Xadapt Kits to the t-slots for a clean, integrated look (all other roof mount gear carriers clamp normally around the crossrails); BoxBeam Technology, features reinforced aluminum extrusion to significantly strengthen crossbar; SmartSlide Technology, features an integrated measurement system that eliminates the need for cumbersome tape-measuring when installing the bars to the Foot Pack.
